Renowned for producing specialist diving watches, Oris is
proud to introduce the new Oris Aquis Depth Gauge. At the
forefront of mechanical watch innovation, Oris has
harnessed its knowledge, expertise and craftsmanship to
produce the first divers watch which measures depth with a
mechanism built into the top glass.
The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge is the first
divers watch to measure depth by
allowing water to enter the timepiece.
An inlet at 12 o'clock leads to a channel
milled into the side of the crystal. Air
inside the channel is compressed,
allowing water to enter into the channel.
The edge in light grey and dark grey
between water and compressed air
indicates the depth to be read on the
yellow depth scale. Above example
shows a depth of 5 metres
